WPC: Weight(less) Raindrops

Raindrops and dew drops with flower refraction

On leafs and petals  hang on tiny water droplets weightless, I wondered why don’t the tiny droplets fall off? 🙂 I have read that just as with gecko feet, it seems that the physical shape of the surface is much more important than any chemical properties of the material in creating ‘stickiness’ and it’s useful for plants  as ‘self cleaning’ when the droplets slide off , taking dust and small insects off with them.

Beautiful photographs- I think raindrops hanging off flowers and leaves are just so pretty
