On March 1, one lovely tradition is people exchange March’s red-white amulets called martis, martinka, martenitsa, martisor as a gift on the first day of March and wear them to welcome Spring. Some pin red-white tassels on their blouse, while others just wear a red-white threads bracelet on their wrist, and when the first stork or new leaf is seen, the threads are tied to that tree. Popular on Balkans, Moldavia, Romania.
At the end of March, the red-white threads are tied to a branch tree in blossom.
Around the world, people welcome Spring with unique celebrations and traditions.
